Sampling That Converts: Scripts Retail Floor Teams Actually Use
By Pim Srisawat
Shoppers decide in seconds. Ambassadors who recite a brochure lose the aisle; ambassadors who open with a relevant question earn a tasting and a shelf conversation.
We write scripts as decision trees, not monologues: allergy check, one sensory cue, one differentiator, one ask. Supervisors rehearse the ask until it sounds like a natural invitation, not a pressure close.
POS placement matters as much as words. If the promo SKU sits three bays away from the tasting table, conversion collapses. Merchandising and sampling briefs are written as one document.
After each shift, crews log what objections repeated. Those notes feed the next briefing—often more valuable than the raw trial count.
